
The Air Force Academy piled up nearly 400 yards rushing and scored nine touchdowns in a 63-7 blowout victory over the Morgan State Bears on Sept. 5 at Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The Air Force Falcons have long been known for their strong running game and the matchup with the Bears proved no different, as they piled up five rushing touchdowns. But Air Force also beat Morgan State in every other facet of the game.
Air Force junior quarterback Nate Romine tossed two touchdowns against the Bears, and the Falcons also scored a touchdown on special teams thanks to a 75-yard punt return by senior Garrett Brown. Junior cornerback Roland Ladipo intercepted a Morgan State pass and returned it for a touchdown.
“Any time you score nine touchdowns in a game you feel pretty good afterwards,” Romine told reporters after the game. “This is kind of a blueprint of who we are: a run-first team.:
Morgan State’s lone touchdown came on a short run by senior quarterback Moses Skillon. Skillon ran the ball 18 times for 35 yards and completed 13 of 25 pass attempts for 142 yards and an interception.
Up next: Morgan State will next face the Illinois State Cardinals on Sept. 12 in Normal, Ill.
